Professor Agnieszka Kościańska Visits Gender and Care Hub

In November 2024, the Gender and Care Hub had the honour of hosting Professor Agnieszka Kościańska from the Institute of Ethnology at the University of Warsaw. As a leading expert on gender and sexuality in Europe, Professor Kościańska's visit was highly anticipated and proved to be incredibly fruitful.

During her visit, Professor Kościańska collaborated with Rachel Murphy, Nicolette Makovicky, and Francesca Tucci. Together, they brainstormed innovative ideas for collaborative research focusing on gender and care in China and Eastern Europe. Their discussions delved into critical topics such as reproductive health and the challenges of depopulation.

In addition to these productive sessions, the team also took advantage of Professor Kościańska's presence to hold a day-long grant writing retreat. This retreat provided an invaluable opportunity for the team to refine their proposals and strengthen their research initiatives. 

Professor Kościańska's visit has paved the way for future collaborations that will address some of the most pressing issues in gender and care research today.
