Diane Robert is reading for an MPhil in International Relations at Oxford University. Her research focuses on Gender Inequality, Peacebuilding, and Transitional justice. Before Oxford, she graduated from the University of McGill with a Bachelor in Political Science and History and worked as a human rights activist in Peru and Ecuador.
As a photojournalist for the McGill International Review, she has covered the student protests in Hong Kong and inspected the gender dimensions of Southeast Asian migration. The podcast she created in 2020 analyzes music in its sociopolitical context - questioning, for instance, the interactions between reggaeton and feminism in Latin America.
Always keen on new challenges, she cycled on her own for 5000km across Europe to raise funds for women’s education in Cambodia. When not in Oxford, Diane is hiking or running toward new adventures.
