Three of our hub members, Stevens, Murphy and Baldassar (with Huang) have published a recent paper that explores inequalities by generation and gender in grandparenting in Chinese families. The paper compares the proximate, mobile and digital caregiving of grandparents that participate in migration both within China and through transnational migration.
The paper 'Descending asymmetry in proximate, mobile and digital care: Chinese older people grandparenting across distance within China and overseas' appears in The Sociological Review, 73(4), 807-825.
