Postdoctoral Researcher Comparative Historical Analysis of Depopulation and Welfare in Europe
The position will be within the ERC-funded project “Coping with decline: Comparative social-historical analysis of depopulation and community welfare in Europe, 1950-2022 (DEPOP)”, based at the University of Groningen.
This Postdoc position will focus on European regional comparison predominantly at the macro-level of analysis, i.e. population trajectories and state welfare provision data, available as reports and regional statistics. You will work closely with two PhD students whose focus will be on the Netherlands and Finland.

PhD on Care for Young Children and Gendered Division of Labour
We invite applications for a PhD position in the SCOOP research centre on sustainable cooperation. As a PhD candidate you will be working on a project entitled “Sticky Practices: The co-evolution of early years childcare, parental leave and women’s labour force participation” under the supervision of Sarah Carmichael, Robert Vonk and Tanja van der Lippe. The project aims to look at how the care of young children is arranged, and what this means for gendered division of labour.
